The Heart Chakra, Anahata, is our center of unconditional love and compassion. It holds the path to great love for others and also for ourselves. It’s holds the energy of giving and receiving. On the shadow side, this is the center where we hold grief, un-forgiveness, martyrdom and heartbreak.
There are many tools you can use to balance your heart chakra. One of my favorite tools right now is essential oils. I’ve been using Siberian Fir frequently to support emotional balance and forgiveness. This oil also helps soothes muscles and minor skin irritations. Rhodochrosite is a crystal to use to bring release to past pain and cultivate forgiveness and compassion for yourself. You can use sound to balance the heart. The frequency of the heart is the seed mantra Yam (pronounced ya-um). When you start to feel like your heart needs a little extra support to open, try this simple Kundalini mantra Meditation to Open the Heart using the mantra Sat Kartar .
As you interact with your community and family, allow yourself to be aware of what heart chakra energies are present. Do you feel love and compassion for your friend? Are you equally giving and receiving? Are you still holding on to hurt from what your brother did 3 years ago? Try saying this ancient Hawaiian prayer for forgiveness called the Ho’oponono.
Please forgive me.
I love you.
And the most important part of balancing the heart chakra is giving that love and compassion to yourself. Honoring yourself even through the rough days. Celebrating yourself with every little success you have along your journey.
