Kundalini Yoga is different from many of the yogas you will find in most studios. One of the main ways, it sets itself apart is the chanting of mantra. Growing up in the West, mantra seems like foreign concept to us because we may not understand the language or the intention. If you have every gone to a church service and sung hymns or worship songs, you have chanted the mantra of the West. Mantra is chanting or singing the names of the Divine.
In this class, experience and learn:
• What is mantra
• Why mantra is chanted in meditation
• The goal of a mantra meditation
• The benefits of chanting for physical, mental and spiritual
The intention of this class is to give you the experience of bliss through mantra meditation. Anahat is merging with the vibration of the sound current as it resounds in every atom and fiber of your being. The result is creating the nectar of bliss, amrit.
Anahat: Why We Chant class includes a few minutes of lite Kundalini Yoga warm-up postures. The remaining time is spent chanting mantra meditations. Our time together ends with a gong bath. Almost the entire class is seated on the floor. Props available to borrow. Bring your yoga mat and water.
Kundalini Yoga is a technology that combines physical yoga postures, breath, mudra and mantra to reawaken us to the remembrance that we are infinite beings in human form.
